The Bobble: one of the best inventions I think I’ve ever seen. It’s a water bottle that filters out chlorine, copper, zinc, and other various metals that you find in tap water and water fountains. It will not filter out harmful microbes of course. But it will filter out anything a Brita filter would and you just fill it and drink right from it. It’s good for as many as 300 refills and it only costs $9 and it’s only $6 for a new filter. The reason I think this is so great is because it takes about 1.85 gallons of water just to MAKE your standard 16oz water bottle. That water is then contaminated and can’t be used. And drinking tap water or water fountain water means ingesting metals and chemicals. If we continue at our current rate of consumption, we could use up our petroleum supplies within about 53 years. Auf In Die Maschinerie: This is part of the chlorination process of a waste water treatment plant. The water is first filtered physically, biologically, and then chemically. Is comes in as gross, grey water and leaves crystal clear. Upon testing the end result, we found the water to be almost perfect for drinking. #science #biology #ecology Unfortunately, it’s becoming more and more apparent that out waste water treatment plants can’t remove all the pharmaceuticals that we take nowadays and thus, some places have a problem with hormone disruption.
